REMINDERS
The Sherenden Women's Division is holding its annual garden fete at Mrs H. Beamish's home, Whanawhana, on Saturday, Becember 11, from 2 p.m. to 5.
The offices of solicitors and members of the Hawke's Bay Law Society will be closed for the Christmas vacation from Friday, December 24, 1937, to Tudsday, January 11. 1938, for Napier, Hastings and Wairoa; Wednesday, January 12, 1938, for Waipawa and Waipukurau, aud to Saturday/ January 15, 193S, for Dannevirke and Woodville. The dates mentioned are all ineluded in the vacation. Ongaonga will certaiuly be well on the inap on New Year's Day, and there is little chance of missing the way, for all roads will lead to Ongaonga on that day. For the jubilee sports meeting of the Ongaonga Sports Club a great programme has been prepared. Dancers runners, cyclists, wrestlers, golfers] goal-kickers and motoriists are all catered for, as well as the usual horse events, and many other competitions. A dance will be held in the evening. A greyhound raeing meeting will be held at League Park, Napier, to-morrow afternoon. As this meeting will be the last until Boxing Day the general public are advised not to miss this opportunity of witnessing one of the most exciting sports yet introduced into the Dominion. Practical demonstrations wilL be given under the auspices of the H.B. Beekeepers' Association at the apiary of Mr A. Lowe, Stortford Lodge, Hastings. on Saturday, December II, at 2.30 o 'clock, .
