Over 100 Additional Resfdences

WELLINGTON, This Day, Contracts have been let for the erection of 109 additional houses undei; the Government's housing "scheme, according to a statement issued thit morning by Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under-Secretary in eharge of houSing, Of these 20 will be erected at' Point Chevalier, Auckland, two at T» Aroha, three at Lower Hutt, 11 at Dan-i nevirke, one in Hastings, nine at Nelson, 10 at Ashburton, six at Timaru, 25. at Invercargill, and 22 at Eiccarton, Christchurch. Areas 'providing for thq constructoin of 146 dwellings have been acquired by the Housing Department in various localities throughout the Do-? minion. , Mr Lee also announced that Cabinet" had approved of further contracts in connection with drainage and sewerago work for six housing groups.
