SEIZURE OF CHURCH PROPERTY

■Press Assn.

Action in Germany is Foreshadowed

STOPPAGE OF SUBSIDIES

(Br Telegraph —

— Cnnvi icht.)

(Received 9. 12.4D p.m.) BERLIN, Dec. 8. The forthcoming expropriation of church property by tlie State is clearly foreshadowed in Herr Schwartzkorp's official organ "Hitler Guards," which says that the landed properties of tho churches have .been estimated to comprise 7 per cent. of the total area of Germany. The paper suggests that the churches' subsidies should be cut off on the ground that tlie State no longer received from them moral support, as in the past, but, on the contrary, must expend considerable means of strength to eounteract the clitirches' anti-Stafe efforts. "One day we will no longer be able to escapa the painful task of deciding to whom the so-called church properties rightly belong," the paper concludes.
