Major Attlee's Description of Non-Intervention CENSURE M0T10N RESULTS

The Daily Telegraph 's Madrid correspondeut says that Major Atlee, Leader of the Opposition in the House of Gommons, who is visiting Spaiu, described the non-intervention policy as "truly a farce," adding: "It should have been ended long ago. Everybody knows it is a farce." Mr W. S. Liddall, a member of the House of Commons, gave no.tice of a motion demanding a vote of censure on Major Atlee for "breach of faith ' 5 during nis visit to Spain by his speech concerning the outcome of the Spanish conflict. When Mr Anthony Eden was questioned about the visit in the House of Commons on December 6, he replied that, before leaving, Major Atlee and others had signed the usual undertaking
not to participate in any activities liable to be interpreted as inconsistent with the Government 's policy of nonintervention. Major Attlee will return to London on December 10, The Prime Minister will be asked in the House on December 9 to provide time next week for the discussion of the censure motion. According to a Barcelona message, Major Attlee's views on the censure motion are not obtainable, but Miss Ellen Wilkinson, ' who is a . member of the party, said he had done nothing that could be interpreted as a breach of faith. "Why should we not say what we have seen? That is what we cains for, anyway," she said.
