SEEPING GAS KILLS ANIMALS IN MENAGERIE
(Received 9, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 8. Seeping ga-s from a heater killed 04 monkeys, birds, ant-eaters, alldgators, tiger-cats, decr and other animals ai the menageries of an animal importing wareiiouse. Policemen who smelt the gas sumluoned rescuers, who revived four alligators, an emu, an ant-eater, a gibbcm ape, two monkeys and three red doves. Thousands of tropical fish were not affected, several large tanks being , equipped with compressed air tubes to 1' keep the oxygen content of the watei norma!. The gas was thus unable to penetrate. I
