(Eeceived 8, 11.30 a.m.) BARCELONA, Dec. 7. Fifty were killed and 100 wounded in the first air-raid for a month over the city and suburbs. Fifteen big bombers participated in the raid, which lasted nearly an hour. One machine was blown apart by fire from an "archie"; the others were driven off. Major Attlee watched the raid from the city. Intense cold and a heavy snowfall are holding up the war on the Aragon front. . f "When we return to London we wifl convene a pnblio meeting to acquaint the British people about the real situation in unbeaten, jnvincible Kepublican Spain," declared Major Attlee in a speech at a, Madrid municipality reception in honour of the visitors, Auyone believing that the cause of the Spanish Eepublic was lost wfts - either badly informed or of bad faith. ' "Our whole attitude will henceforth be based on our conviction of final victory for the Spanish Government," said Major Attlee. Two insurgent airmen who were forced down in the Mediteryanean were picked up by the Largs Bay after clinging to wreekage for several hours. They declare that a passing Eussian ship re'fused to aid them.
