MUNICIPAL THEATRE
"DANDY DIOK" & "DEATH FLIES EAST." ' ' Dandy Dick, ' ' starring Will Hay, screens at the Municipal Theatre tonight. In this film Will is the poor good-natured vicar of an English village, the church spire of which has -for long been in such a precarious position that the parish council keeps nagging the vicar into making a speeial effort to rai&e the necessary thousand pounds to have a new one erected, His daughter 's lover, Tony, makes various suggestions that are supposed to help him, but actually do the reverse. He suggests, for instance, that the vicar should miake an offer of £250 on condition that three others come forward with the same sum. Imagine his surprise when three others come forward with the specifled sum and piace on him the obligation of finding a cool quarter of a thousand when his sole possessions amount to a mere £25. A racehorse then enters th© story to provide a stirring and hilarious climax. What happens when a man is murdered aboard a transcontinental air liner is depicted in the Columbia production, "Death Flies East," which is the main feature at the Municipal. Because Florence Rice, cast as an exconvict, has broken parole by leaving the State, she is immediately accused of the murder. Conrad Nagel, who is featured as a brilliant young professor, comes to her rescue, but only after a great deal of suspense is ho able to prove her innoeence.
