MISS ELAINE CARTER HAS COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
The coming-of-age of Miss Elaine Carter was celebrated at the Prem'ei Hall, Hastings, with a veryjolly dartte given byher mother, Mrs M. A. Carter. The hall presented a gay appearance with decorations of inulti-coloural streamers while the stage was comforlably arranged for those who did not dance with easy chairs and chestcrfields and bright bowls of flowers gavo an added touch of colour. The guests were received by Mrs Carter, who wore a gown of black chantilly la-ce. The guest of honour chose ti charming gown of white flecked organza with very full skirt and full puifel sleeves. With this she wore a spray of yellow carna'tions. The Misses Nellie and Joan Carter were also present, the former wearing green and black shot taffeta and the latter a gown of floral crepe. The evening was spent in dancing and during an interval a delicious sltdown supper was much enjoyed. The tables were decorated with bowls oi bright sweet peas and the birthda? cake was much admired. The toast to the guest of honour was proposed by Mr R. Stevenson.
