Annual Meeting of Waipukurau , Club

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Waipukurau Ladies' Golf Club was held in the Women 's Rest this evening, Miss M. Johnstone, president, presiding over S't attendanee of 20 membera. Severai apologies for absence were received. The Teport on the year's working was presented ,by the secretary, Mrs Urquhart. The year had proved a most saccessful one, ' The election of officers for the ensuing year Teeulted: — President, Mrs A. L. McGormick; vice-presidents, Mrs E. Broad, Miss M. Johnstone; captain, Miss M. Riddell; handicapper, Miss A. Eood; secretary, Mrs D. Urquhart; committee, Mesdames C. Hartland, S. Train, Misses J. Speedy, N. Nairn and S. McLauchlan. ' lt was decided that the annual tournament to be a three-davs' event. to be held in the third week in August, 1938.' A suggestion was put forward to revert to the ythree qualifying rounds for the senior and junior championships. It was intimated that Mr Carlson had donated a cup, the conditions for play to be decided later. Mrs Mackie also donated a trophy Eor the junior who re&uced her handicap the most during the season. Thanks were expressed to Miss Johnstone, the retiring president, and to Miss Speedy, the retiring captain, and, all others who had helped during the past seasom
