Small Entries at Waipukurau Sale DULL SELLING GENERAL Store cattle were again the principal section at the Waipukurau sale to-day, when the market was dull and lifeless. The yarding included some well bred station eattle in good order, but there was little evidence of any inquiry. Vendors' ideas of values for severai of the entries were above those made and passin~s were frequent. The top price for well grown young bullocks, ready for finishing, -was £9. Other good lines were passed at £8 17/6. The market was not tested with younger sorts, which came forward only in small 1 ts. With the lack of eompetition bidding was slow and the sale dragged throughout. A small offering of f at ' cattle was made, the best entry being a line of prime young bullocks which made ap* proximately 32/- per TOOlbs. Values in general were easier than at Stortford Lodge last week. Eealisations were as under: — FAT CATTLE. On account of Mr J. W. Harding 8 clean-bred medium-framed ' AberdeenAngus bullocks, solidly finished, being a prime quality line, . sold to £12. The pen would average out at 7501bs. Three light finished medium-grown Shorthorn bullocks re'alised £10. Two Eed Poll cows, medium-framed, sho^ng fair quality, brought £6 7/6. In the same pct a similar bred heifer, medium -finished, made £7 15/-. Two small to medium-grown prime Aberdeen / -gus bullocks, making a good summer beef- entry, brought £9 17/6. — : ; Medium fininshed Jersey cows brought tO! £3 15/-. ... STORE" CATTLE. • An' offering of 68 clean-bred mediumgrown 3 -year Aberdeen Angus steers were passed at £ 8. , The. linei was in medium order and included a few bad so'rts. - ' On' account of -Mr D. Rickey, Porangahau, 22 bet'ter 'grow» Aberdeen Ahgus and Heref ord crossbred 3-year steers, in good store condition, brought £817/6. ' - A' line of 32 clean-bred • dehorned Hereford -2-year sfreets,. medium-grown and in good store. condition, being a* lot of useful young cattle, were passed at £8 18/-. , ' / • An entry of 35. Aberdeen Angus and Hereford. crossbred 3-y.ear steers, small to medium-grown, . and in medium store order, were passed at'the only bid of £S. An offering of 55 , Aberdeen Angus ] bullocks, a 'few showing Hereford cross, met the market at £9.
