Waipukurau Drops Back The Waipukurau Bowling Club did not maintain on Saturday the lead it had established in the Shield competition. On the previous Saturday the club's teams won the six games played but last Saturday, when the third round was in progress, only three were won. Two of the games played on the local greens were lost, as was the game against Bluff Hill on that elub's green. Against National Service: Taylor, Bennett, Townsend, Scott, 19; Tuohy, Scott, Killett, Sloan, 20. Against Bluff Hill: Moorhead, Dunbar, Clark, Martin, 19; Scheele, Pleming, Somerset-Smith, Dunsford, 15. Other games played on Saturday were: — Ward, ^fackie .23; Wharmby, Jones 12. Murphy, McLaren 26* Ewen, Turner 17.
