Summer joys on a Bay of Plenty beach near Little Awanui, east of the Motu River. Interesting caves, into which hang the roots of fine pohutukawas, lie between the camp and the island, once used as a landing place for sailing ships. The iron stanchions to which they were tied are still to be seen.
