JOLLY GARDEN PARTY HELD AT THE HOME OF MR & MRS GEORGE NELSON
About 60 nursea attended a party held in the delightful garden of "Keirunga, " the home of Mr and Mrs George Nelson, Havelock North, on Saturday afternoon, where the members of the H.B. Registered' Nurses' Association entertained the student merabers. Mrs George Nelson, one of the vicepresidents, acted as hostess, and was assistcd by Mesdames T. J. C. Warren, Romaine Wright, /J. C. Lockie and A. Wood. The students, who arrived by special bus i'roin Napier, were introduced Dy Miss Groft, the president, after which thej- explored the garden and grounds, getting a tine idea of the countrysido frorn various viewpoints. A refreshing- afternoon tea was provided by the members of the branch and served by members of the council, in the sunporch and upon the ' long, shady verandah steps, the occasicu proved a reunion. for many old friends. The gaily-attired groups of young folk dotted about the lawns, made ;i bright picture, and much merrimeut was caused by compotitors cntering a chain-stepping competition under Ihe flower names on their pogs. which re- j sulted: Miss Archer-Wells 3, Miss Milne 2, Miss Dey 3, Mrs T. J. C. Wairen, consolation. The student branch of the Registered Nurses' Association, has only lately been formed, and this is the tirst timo that the seniors of the branch ' have entertained the trainees as studon'. members. Eortunately the afternoon was ideal for' an out-of-doors party, and everyone was enthusiastic in their appreciation of the hills, the trees and the flowers. . The moment of departure came all too soon, when all the guests, throug.'i Miss Croft, warmly thanked Mr and Mrs Nelson for a very enjoyable afternoon. Those present were: — Miss L. M.
