FILM RIGHTS OF “THE CITADEL"
Dr. A. J. Oronin's la+est novel, "The' Citadel," which ran into three editions in the first week of its publication, ranks as the most sensational ancl much discussed best-seller since "All Quiet on the Western Front." Immediately the success was known in America there was the keenest competition to acauire the film rights by the major producing companies. The fihn rights, however, have been bought hy an English firm and the film will shortly he mad© at Deuham Studlcs and presented by Alexander Xorda. Dr. Cronin is convinced that his book, which deals with controversial aspects of the English medical profession, should he made in England, and he is deliglited that it will be directed by Victor Saville, who has recently completed "South Riding,'' nnother great film hased in a novel of English life.. Shirley Temple has Gloria Stnart, Helen Westley, "Bill" Rolnnson, Pbyllis Brooks, Jack Haley and Slim Summerville to support her in "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm."
