(By Telesraph-

f CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The grain and produce markets remain very quiet and no great amount of business is expected now till the new year for which prospeets appear to be good. Stoeks of most lines are now reasonable. Most of the stores have been employed recently stocktaking and clearing up for the wool season. There is no interest in potatoes. A few inquiries are still being received for old stoeks but there is nothing left in Canterbury to offer. In the meantime interest has died down in the forward market without any great quantity of business being done: Farmers are unwilling to sell at the current offer of £3 10s 'on triicks. "It is Teported that more business has been done in forward potatoes in South Canterbury. There is an excellent delnand for ■chaff whieh is not being offered freely. Those farmers Who have it are holding in the meantime. The price is about £4 5s per ton on .trueks. Oats are meeting with a steady inquiry with no alteration in prices, 'Algerians for sowing for green feed aT8 in strong request and are worth up tfl 3s on trucks. . f Small seeds xemain quiet. There is a fair inquiry but holders are unwilling to make price concessions and the demand has not become strong enough yet. to xaise prices.
