REMINDERS

The annual ball of the Haumoana Football Club will be held in the Haumoana Hall on Thursday, December 9, 1937. Members and friends of the Hastings Women's Community Club are reminded of the birthday and head-dress party^ which will be held on Monday, Deeeiaber 6, at 8 p.m. in the club. As this will be the last funetion of the year it is hoped that many members will be present. A programme of music and plays has been arranged. The Patangata County Couneil invites tenders up to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, for the formation of 166 chains on Mangatera ta to Long Range road, the approxiinate quantity being 8350 cubic yards of excavation, placing 30 culverts, 743 feet "concrete pipes. Plans and specifications may bo seen at the county office, Waipukurau, and at the Public Works Office at Napier. Contractors will be shown over the work on Friday, December 10, leaving the County Office at 4 p.m. Members of the Hastings ATownswom'en's Guild will hold their- final meeting for the year in the Oddfellows' Hall, Thursday, December 9, at 8 p.m. Fancy dress is requested, and members are also asked to bring a small contribution for supper. Current events will be staged by each of the circles, and .there will be a collection box for gifts of Christmas fare for the H.B. Children 's Homes.
