Foreign Ambassadors Express Concern MR. EDEN APPROACHED

The Daily Telegraph says that keon interest in the Anglo-French talks has led a number of foreign ambassadors, including tbe Belgian and PortuguesO, to seek interviews with Mr Anthony Eden. It is expected that both the Belgian and Portuguese Ambassado'-s would desire authoritative information regarding the origin of tho Gerinan suggestion of a chartered company in the Belgian Congo and Angola. j Herr von Bibbentrop, German Ambassador, called at the Foreign Officc on instructions from the Government,, and explained that these were Dv. Schacht's personal views. The Government 's views could be found only in, Herr Hitler's statements. It is officially announced through the German News Agency that Germany 's colonial claims are confined to her pre-war possessions. The Lisbon correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says: "The Prime Minister 's secretary authorises xne to state that the sale or lease of PortuJ* guese oolonies wonld not be entertained by the Government, which would refuse even to- diseuss the subjeet, Alienation of Portuguese territory is forbidden by the Constitution and by national sentiment." A Brussels message says that tho Foreign Minister, M. Spaak, in the Senate, stated that the Government would never permit interference with the integrity of Belgian colonies. The Daily Telegraph's Tokio correspondent says the Japanese Press carries reports that Germany is seeking to .recover New Guinea. - . ' e
