NURSES' SWIMMING POOL
Appeal Considered by Retailers
The. appeal for £600 to provide a swimming pool for the nursing staff at the Hastings Soldiers' Memorial Hospital was considered at a meeting of the executive of the Hastings Eetailers' Association yesterday when the Bev. E. B. Gosnell, on behalf of the hospital committee, waited upon tho members to solicit their support to the proposal. The chairman, Mr. C. Griffiths, stated that the retailers had no jurisdiction in the matter, however, and it was pointed out that two other appeals would also be plaeed before the publie during the month. In view of this, it was felt that it might ber as' well to hold over one of the appeals, at least, in the meantime. Mr. Gosnell said that the hospital committee would make inquiries and ascertain what other appeals were to be made as there was no desire to make it difficult for anyone by a multiplicity Of collections at a busy time.
