Mr. H. A. Gatwood has been transferred from Christchurch to the Wanganui Labour Office. Messrs. J. It. aud A. K. Dixon, of tlie Wanganui Technical College, left Wanganui tliis week for America. They expect to be away about two months. Mr. S. E. McGregor, who has been inspector of factories for the past three years at Wanganui, has been translerred to Christchurch. Mr C. H. Crombie has been appointed manager of the Cfinterbury fcfieam Shipping Compan'y, Ltd. He has been associate-a with the company for many years. Mr A. Salter, lately ground engineer at New Plymouth for the Western i'ederated Aero Club, lias been apIiointed ground engineer at Mangere xor the Auckland Aero Club. Mr. S. W. Fearn, A.ll.I.B.A.,, F.N.ZI.A., has been appointed a meinber of tlie Board of Trustees of the National Art. Gallery and Dominion Museum He will represent the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects for three years. The Rev. Nigel Williams has been appointed assistant chaplain to Wanganui Collegiate School, aud will take up his duties after the New Year. Mr Williams is a son of the Bishop of Waiapu tho Rev. Herbert Williams, and returned lecently from Singapore, where he was chaplain of the cathedial for several years. The Williams family has been associated with the Church for many years. An announcement that his Excellency, the Governor-General, had approved of the promotion to the rank of Group-Captain of Wing-Commander T. M. Wilkes, O.B.E., M.C., A.D.C., on his secondment from the Royal New Zealand Air Force to devote the whole of his time to the duties of Controller of Civil Aviation, was made last evening by the Minister'of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones.
