ALMOST RECORD SNOOKER BREAK
i Horace Lindrum, the young Australian— nephew of the great Walter — came within a black of breaking the world's snooker record break at Leeds last month. After his opponent, Sidney Smith, of Doncaster, had failed to score, Lindrum potted all the reds and coloured ball: until, when only the black remaining, the break stood at 130. He had to sink the black to beat Joe Davis' world record of 135 by two points. It was an easy shot. But Lindrum failed. The ball wobbled between the jaws of the pocket— and stayed up.k.
