Bushy Park Polled Hereford Bull OUTSTANDING LINE One of the mostlmportant saies that has been made for export in connection with the Polled Hereford hreed has just been finalised by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., on behalf of the weil-known breeder, Mr. G. F. Moore, of Bushy Park, Kai Iwi. The polled bull in question, Park Prime Anxiety 4th, is one ' pf the most outstanding Hereford bulls yet bred in the famous Bushy Park herd and, when It is stated that he comes from Mr. Moore 's famous Amethyst family, this will indicate to breeders throughout the Dominion and Australia what outitanding breeding lines he represents, Park Prime Anxiety 4th was calved on July 31, 1936, and is sired by Prime Anxiety (imp.), one of the llrst four Polled Double Standard bulls importecl fco the Dominion from the United Statea by Mr. Moore. It is many years since a higher price was paid in the Dominion for a Hereford bull. Park Prime Anxiety 44th has been purchased by the Australian Estates and Mortgage Co., Ltd., Brisbane, on behalf of the , weH-known Queensland breeder, Mr. J. Spaikcs, Lyndley, Dalby, Queensland. Like Mr. Moore in New Zealand, Mr. Sparkes is one of the largest breeders ,of Hereford cattle in Australia and he has made many importations of Polled Herefords to Queensland direct from America. Two years ago, however, he imported a Polled" Hereford bull bred by Mr. Moore through Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and was so impressed with this bull that he was very anxious to secure Park Prime Anxiety 4th. This bull is undoubtedly one of the best ever produeed in the Dominion an he not only shows the best cbaracteristies of the famous Amethyst family but has the desirable polled head. He is beautifully marked and is very thiek, low set and an evenly balanced bull xight through. He is ideally anarked, having plenty of colour and a nice little bit of xed around the eyes. This is most important for Australian xequirements. He has two white stockings from abpufc t'he fetlock in front and. has similstr white gfcpckings

reaching midway to the hocks hehina. His wonderful conformation is. set offi with a splendid head and, as he is - a real rieh red in colour and carries a marvellous coat. of hair, he looks certain to develop into an outstanding show winner as well as a not&d sire. There is no more Temarkable cow in the Dominion than the dam of this bull, Park Amethyst 97th. She is not only ono of the most outstanding types in the Bushy Park Stud but she is a famour breeder. Park Amethyst 97th is a direct descondant of the famous imported cow, Amethyst, which founded this great line. "She is by San Juan from Park Amethyst 57th, by President Wilson (imp.) from Park Amethyst 12th, by Park Royal from Amethyst 413th, by Blue Blood from Amethyst 345th, by Colonist. This strain has been remarkable both as a successful breading and; as a show family, the majority of the most notable winners bred in the famous Bushy Park Stud being descended ' from it. This bull should undoubtedly prove a great adr pertisement for New Zealand Herefords throughout Australia. He is being ihipped immediately to Sydney and from there /he will be transhipped to Brisbane en ronte to Mr. Sparkes' stud property where he breeds many hunireds of Herefords for use as sires on his ext&np'-'f xtftifn-
