WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Eskdale Gathering The final meeting pf the Eskdale Women' s Institnte for this year was held on Thursday. The motto read. was, ''Small cbeers and great welcome make a merry feast." The monthly 'competitions resulted: • -"Useful article costing not more than 1/-", Mrs, jSaunders l, Mrs, Spence 2. liest bloom, Mrs. (Spence 1, Mrs. Williams 2, and Mrs. Bryson 3. Roll call, "My wakjng thoughts," caused amukement. It was decided to have a saies table at every meeting nest year to help raise funds for extra expenses. The annual Christmas tree and tea ior all local children will be held ea Thursday afternoon, December 16. This is always a liappy time for both children and adults. A most interesting demonstration of hair-pin work was given by Miss K. Blair, Bay View Women's Institnte. We were pleased to weleome a new member, and sorry to have the resignation oi, Miss Ema Kyle, one of the qommittee for the past year, The hostesses were Mrs, Bryson and Miss Blair. Tbier competition was won by Mrs, King .
