ALL FOR CHRIST.

Christ demands the sarrender of everything to His control. We all want to keep back part of the price. There are secret, unyielded things in all our hearts, which Christ will not own, and which we keep in spite of Him. It was once a practice amongst farmers to leave a part of the field uncultivated, as if it were an offering to the malign forces of the world, which, being recognised and having this in reservation for themselves, they would not hurt or injure the harvest growing in the Test of the field. We mav have a corner of the

field of life which is likewise uncultiv' ated, uneonsecrated. Life is safest when Christ owns all. — John MacBeath, D.D.
