Here are some of the prices paid for film rights of stage productions :-—"Balalaika," the spectacular musical play which is such a hit in London and Melbonrne, has been sold for £22,500. The American comedy smash-hit, "Yes, My Darling Daughter," a comparative, failure in London, was sold for £20,000. The biggest sum ever to have been paid (according to rumour) was £600,000 for the American success, "Abie's Irish Rose" — and the film of the play was a Hop.
