GODETIAS
The godetias are another class of good hardy annuals to tow at the present time. The treatment is about the same as for clarkias. They grow about the same height, and make a bright display, and last for quite a long timo, flowering from the end of October to December, before the heat of summer. A fairly rich loamy soil suits them, but they can be grown with fairly good results in any ordinary soil. When coming into flower, an occasional dose of weak liquid manure improves the size and colour of the flowers. There are single and double varieties, and the flowers Tange through white, pink, red, and crimson shades. If the soil is sandy, and when the warm weather commences, a light mulching tvill pro-j long the ffowering period.
