MRS. H. GLAZEBROOK GIVES PLEASURE TO FREE KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN
For ihe .children of the Hastings Free Kindergarten, yesterday afternoon was filled with fun and pleasure, due to the kindness of Mrs Howard Glazebrook, "The Washpool," Hastings, in. whoso wonderful garden the little folk spent the afternoon. Early in the afternoon several members of the Hastings Free Kindergarten Couneil called in their cars for the 50 children and drove them out to "The Washpool." As these Jittlo children all live in town and many of them do not get very frequent drives in the country, the journey out was a wonderful beginning to a very happy afternoon. Those who drove cars were Mesdames A. F. Redgrave, H. Harvey, H. Lovell-Smith, Johnston, H. Glazebrook and Miss Lewis. The absolute delight of the children while they played around the garden must have well xewarded the hostess for all her trouble. Each part of the garden was more fun than the last, but the greatest thrill of the afternoon was the lovely paddling pool. Games were organised by the kindergarten director, Miss Ella Scotfer, and her assistants, the Misses J. Price, Linyard and johnison. Strawberries and ice-creams were enjoyed by all the children, and each child xeeeived a balloon and a gift. The treasure • hunt arranged by Mrs Glazebrook 's little daughter, Jose, was also great fun. The grown-ups who were present were entertained inside at afternoon tea, and later had an opportunity to admire this beautiful garden. Mrs J. Wilson expressed, appreciation to Mrs Glazebrook for giving the children so much pleasure and such a wonderful afternoon.
