TWO MAIDS WEAR GOWNS OF CORNFLOWER BLUE NINON
VERRY — LOOMES Two maids in charming gowns of cornflower blue sheer ninon phtterned with peony roses, attended the bride at the Wedding lasfc evening of Euby Elizabeth, daughter of Mr and Mrs P. C. Looines, Beech road. Hastings,, and Russell Arthur, son of Mr and Mrs A. Verry,. Karamu road. Hastings. St. Matthew's Church, where the wedding ceremony took p'lace,. was decorated with jardinieres of roses, sweet peas, lilies and ferns, and the guestp' pews were marked with posies of white carnations. Canon C. Mortimer-Jones officiated at the ceremony, and Mr C. B. Spinney presided at the organ. A lovely classical gown of magnolia satin was worn by the bri.de, who was given away by her father. The gown was fashioned with a sun-ray pleated Medici collar of stiffened net, and the fitting sleeves shirred at the shoulders were ilnished with a pleated net cuff to match the collar.' She wore silver shoes and an heirlooin cluster of pearls at the nock Was lent by a friend. Her cream tulle veil was worn with a halo of orange blossom buds and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies with a silver horseshoe given by a friend. The two maids were the Misses Fhyllis Loomes, the bride 's sister (chief) and Betty Greeningt and their gowns were fashioned alike with high neckline of pink Briton net gauged with silver piping. Three crossed-over rows of silver piping finished the corsage at the back, and at the neck in f ront was a posy of forget-me-nots. The iskirts were very fufl, and waterfall puffed sleevea finished the corsage. Each maid* wore silver sandals and a silver American turban, and bouquets in pink shades were carried. Little Jean Gutterson was a dainty flowergirl in an ankle-length gown of cornflour blue ninon with silver belt and wrist streamera and blue forgot-me-nots at the neck. She wore blue shoes and a silver halo with tiny blue flowers. Mr Billy Saunders was best man^ and Mr Cyril Yerry, the bridegroom'a brother, groomsman. Ushers at the church were Messrs B. Waro and T. model tailored costume of black matelasse patterned with white. Her black hat was trimmed with black and white ribbon and she carried a bouquet of red carnations. Mrs A. Verry, the bridegroom's mother, wore a navy ensemble wi% smart navy hat and her bouquet was oi gold roses, When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon tour in the Auckland district, the bride travelled in a smartly tailored costume in navy blue with silver pin stripe. Her blouBe was of oyster shaded needlerun lace and she wore a navy hat with cherry velvet ribbon and posy in front and navy aecessories. She also wore the bridegroom's gift, a dark northern skunk stole. The bridegroom's gifts to the bridesmaids were silver-mounted compacts, and to the best man and groomsman he gave a silver Eversharp pencil. Among the guests were the bride '« brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs J. Ridgway^ of Napier. Mrs Ridgway wore a smartly tailored navy self-striped costume with navy trimming.
