TWO MAIDS WEAR GOWNS OF BLUE FLOWERED NINON
FERGUSSON— BROOKS A very pretty evening wedding was solemnised St. Augustine's Church, Napier, last week, when Claire Mary, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Brooks, To Pohue, was married to Francis William, son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Fergusscn, Havelock North. The Eev. S. E. Gardiner officiated at the ceremony, and Mr Jamieson presided at the orgaii. The church was charmingly decorated with bowls of lili.es and roses. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of white souple satin fashioned with a cowl train. Her veil of Brussels net was lent by the bridegroom's aunt, Mrs E. J. Wall, Hastings,, and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. Two maids attended the bride, her sister. Miss Hilda Brooks (chief), and Miss Barbara James, the bridegroom's cousin. They were gowned alike in blue ninon patterned with large pink roses and carried bouquets of pink and red roses and wore halos of red rosebuds. Little Annette Wall, the bridegroom's cousin, was a dainty flowergirl, and wore a frock of blue silk net trimmed with pink velvet roses and she carried a muff of natural blue flowers. Mr Gordon Christie was best man, and Mr Keitn Brooks the groomsman. The wedding reception was Seld in St. Luke's Hall, Napier, where the tables , were decorated with ieeland poppies, pink dahlias and asparagus fern. The beautiful two-tiered wedding cake was made and iced by the bridegroom's mother. A very jolly wedding breakfast was followed by a dance. The bride 's mother, Mrs H. Brooks, wore a navy blue cloque frock patterned with white and a navy coat and hat. The bridegroom 's mother, Mrs F. W. Fergusson, wore a gown of rose French silk trimmed with vieux rose and her hat was also in this shade. When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon trip in the Auckland district, the bride travelled in a model ensembie of henmi embossed wool georgette cut in rediiigole style and trimmed with small bows of corded ribbon. She wore a small- brown hat with eye veil, skin shoes and handbag and a skunk stole. Among the guests were the following relatives of the bride; Mrs E. Edwards, Palmerston North, Mrs Wright, Lower Hutt, Miss P. Edwards and Miss M. Edwards, Palmerston North; relatives of the bridegroom were Mr and Mrs J. Harding, Mr and Mrs F. H. James, Mr and Mrs E, J. Wall.
