Tke need for continuing riiver-pro-tection work was stressed on several oecasions by Mr A. M. A note oi warning in tkis connection was sounded by Mr Dunn, wko pointed out that tke land was only leasehold, and some agreement witk tke landlord would be desirable before proceeding witk expensive .works. . "But we kave got to encourage tke young men to join," observed Mr Joknstone. "It is not rigkt to ask them to pay £5 5/-."
