Condition of Fish Improving GOOD SPORT PROVIDED
(From
TAUPO, This Day. The fishing over the last few days has, on the whole, improved. Sunday in particular was an ideal day on the ; lake. The condition of the fish is improving, but in very few cases have they reacned what could be termed perfect condit'ion. This Tefers more to the lake. Mr. W. G. Douglas, of Havelock North, trolling on tlie eastern side of the lake from thc launeh Romance, secured a very nice fish weighing 8Rbs., together with 13 more, iucluding one of 6£lbs. From the same launch and locality Mr. "W. Scott and party, of "Wellington, landed by trolling 19 fair-conditioned fish, including four of six pounds each. Trolling from the launch Whizzbang, Mr. Leon M. Lyons, of Sydney, caught his limit of fair-conditioned fish. No weights were taken, but he reports having had a wonderful day's sport. From the same launch in the same locality on the eastern side, Mr. L. McDonald, , of Taradale, secured ll good fish, the best going 6J lbs., with an average of 3£ lbs. Mr. E; Thomas, of Adelaide, trolling from the launch Dawn on the Western side, caught 12 nice fish. The best was 6 lbs. He was very pleased with the sport they gave. The fishing on the streams and river is very quiet just now, with very few fly fishermen about. The weather in Taupo for the last few days has been very warm, with just a light breeze on thc lalce. It is surprising the number of campers already appearing in and around Taupo so early in the season.
