MUNICIPAL THEATRE
"THE GIRL FEIEND" AND "BEYOND BENGAL." A brilliant array of talent bedeeks the new screen musical comedy, "The Girl Friend, ' ' which screens at the Hastingfc Municipal Theatre, to-night. Th# top name spots are illled by Ann Sothern and Jack Haley, stars of many Broadway successes and, within reeeni months, almost as many Hollywood ones. Roger Pryor, another actor who has had equal popularity on both stage and screen, heads the supporting cast, with Thurston Hall, Victor Kilian aua Inez Courtney contributing their share of gaiety to the pieture. Three penni-le-ss Broadwayites who become invoived in rural theatricals by impersonating a famous impressaTio and his assistants, provide the hilarious theme of the film. A stampede of farmyard animals breake up their premiere in a converted ■ barn and consternation reigns. The solution to their troubles promises a fun-iilling evening in tbe theatre. The second feature is titled "Beyoud Bengal," a genuine drama of tho jungle. There is a mad elephant stampede, a sensational native battle in?:a river literally alive with crocodiles, and a hundred and one other unbelievable thrills.
