— — —p SOME -CHILDREN ARE ■ CIFTED WITH TELEPATHY The widespread belief that "blind people are peouliarly. endowed with a compensatory 1 ' sixth sense" has been subjeeted to vigorous investigation by . the staif of Duke University, TT.R. A. A speeial ' ' parapsy chology ; ' laboratory has been set up there to probe the problem of telepathy an clairvoyance. Tests were given to 66 blind persons with sets of cards on which speeial symbols were inscribed. Nearly half the subjects forecast the deal of the cards with an aecuraCy which quite ruled out any element of chance. This is a much higher'proportion of persons with the gift of clairvoyance than has so far been found among normal subjects. Trials made with children of subnormal intelligence by other, investigators showed that the faculty of sixth • sense is not a funetion of intelligence. Twenty-two retarded children showed as much suceess as those . of . normal standard. A famous instance of this is a little Latviangirl, II ga, who, though feebleminded, performed astoundihg feate of telepathy. Children in general, even when as young as three years, appear to havo the gift very much more than adults. • vIbonn^cton'sI I irish moss j JfOR WHOOPINC COUGH*CROUpI MABJORIB OURLETT £1 IA Imported Summer Frocks 800 LYNDON KOAD — HASTINUN TOELESS SANDAL.
