SPORTS NOT WANTED
Comment by President of Havelock Club ANNUAL MEETING ADJ0URNED "The position is that "the people don 't want a sports meeting, ' ' said the president of . the Havelock North Athietie Club, Mr C. D. Pankhurst, at the annual meeting held last evening> Only seven . members attended, and there were only. two executive members present in addition to the president and secretary. The meeting was adjourned for.a time to enable a canvass of residents to be made. The meeting proceeded as far as the confirmation of the minutes, and the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet. It was reported that no new members had been gained during the year, ' and that one member only was finaneial. "There was a credit balance of about £23. Afc this " stage it was deeided that the meeting could not proceed with such a small attendanpe, and it ' was adjourned imtil Thursday. In the meantime, an endeavour is to be made to mterest the public.
