WEDDING
SIMM0NS — JONES A charming colour seheme of cream and gold was carried out at the wedding of Gladys, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. "Jones, of "Havelock North, and Stanley, only son of Mr G. R: Simmons and the late Mrs Simmons, of Kereru. The Rev. R. B. Waugh officiated at the ceremony 'which was held at the Presb}-terian Church, Havelock North. The bride's lovcly gown of ivory stiffened taffetas was fashioned ivith a fully "gored skirt rucked from the waist to-the hemline.- The bodice "was rucked down the centre of the front to form a V neckline which had an Elizabetli collar at tho back, and the vsleeves rucked at the shoulders were tight fitting at the wrists. Her handmade veil, lent by a friend, was worn with a coronet of tiny liy.es and orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of ivory and gold roses. Two maids attended tlie bridge, the Misses Olwyn Jones and Rhoda Graham, who looked very charming gowned alike in gold satin-finislied stiffened taffetas with full skirts finished with vandyked trimming. The square neckline was trimmed to mateh and the sleeves were short and puffed. Each maid wrore a gold halo and gold shoes and carried a shower bouquet of gold roses. ' The best man was Mr Leslie Simnions, the bridegrooni's cousiii, and tlie groomsman "was Mr Leslie Jones, a brotlier of the bride. Messrs Bob aud David Mintoft ivere usliers at the church. The reception was held at the Pasadena tearooms where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs J. E. Jones, the bride's parents. Mrs Jones wore a model trained gown of Georgian gold ribbed maroeain with a coat of brown cloque. She wore a brown straw hat and carried a lovely bouquet. The bridegrooni's father, Mr G. R. Simmons was present and assisted to reeeive the guests with his daughter, Miss. G.. Simmons. Miss Simmons wore a gown of black panne velvet with corsage of flame and silver lame and she carried a bouuet of flame roses. The tables were decorated with cream and gold flowers and on the bridal table stood the thrcc tiered %vedding cake beautifully iced in deep cream and gold favours. When the bride aua bridegroom left for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a tunic ensemble of lido biue erocodile crepe with touches of gold. She wore blue hat and accessories and 2 skunk stole. ^
