OPAL FOR MUSEUM

LONDON, Nov. 3. A •-nagmficent blaclt opal from Australia has been bequeathed to tho Nuttual History Museum, South Kensihgtun, Loudon, by the Jale Mrs. Kate | Murrav Pontifex. Her bequest included otlier line lnineral spocimens. Oue of the most outstaiiding was a large mass of brilliant crystals oi crocoite from Tasmania. This was one of the specimens brought to England in 1913 by Mr. A. R. Pontifex, tho best of which were tliea purchaaed by , i tho museum.
