The Daily Herald's Shanghai correspondent says: * 'An extremely critical situatlon has developed between the Eussians and the Japanese in the Par East after the - arrival of large numbers of Eussian bombing and flghting pianes at Chinese headquarters. Soviet subzuarines also are reported to have been taken over land in parts to Vladivostocke where they are being assembled by shifts working d&y and' nlght. This is regarded as Bnssia's reply to Japan' s action in inassing half a million troops on the Manchukuo-Mongolia frontier.
