CROQUET TOURNEY

Hastings Club Annual Event Preliminary rounds have now been eompleted in the annual tournament of the Hastings Croquet Club, which is to be continued to-day. The first stages of the tournament were interrupted by poor weather, but some interesting games were witnessed, with close , finishes. Mesdames Esson and Tomlinson (7^) beat Mesdames Matthews and Ebbeth (15),- 26—24, Mesdames Shirley and Brooker (16$) beat Mrs Lange and Miss Mellichamp (6), 26—20, Miss Head and Mr Stratton (5$) beat Mesdames Tonkin and Davies (11), 26—11.
