GISBORNE, This Day. Disappointxnent that the amount alJowed to dairy companies for patting butter for th© local xuarket had been fixed so low was expressed at a Dairy .Boaird ward confextenoe in Gisborne yesterday. A motion, sponsored by Mr. J. M. Sunderland, secretary of the Kia Ora Daij-y Coxnpany, expressing those sentimeuts, and recominending that the allowance should not be less than }d a lb., was passed. Mr. Sunderland' contended the difference of l-8d a lb. for pounded butter over bulk b.utter was inadequate. He tbqught it would have been at least id a lb. Mr. A. J, Murdock, chairman of the Dairy Board, said the board had had a local marketing proposaj, in whioh ^d was suggested. If was thouglxt adequate a- year ago, lxe could not see liow 1-Sd was a'easonable to-day in Ticw of the increased costs.
