TE AWA SWIMMING CLUB
Cup for Football Relay Mr. T. W. Ireland preslded over a full attendance of members of the Te Awa, Swimming and Life-Saving Club. The reports of the various siib-com-mittees were received, and the indications show tliat swimming is as popular as ever.
The football club relay event, to commence at the first club night, to be held on Wednesday, December 1, wxll be one of the main events of the evening. Teams have been entered by Marist Old Boys, Pirates, Technical. Old Bovs, Napier High School Old JBoys, and the- Thistle Soccer GJubs. The trophy for this event will be a liandsome cup. Points will be given over the whole of the season, the winning club to hold the cup for 12 months. Members are advised that the foilowing programme has been arrangcd for next Wednesday eveiiing 311 1-3 yards junior girls ; 33 1-3 yards junior boys; '33 1-3 yards intermediate hoys; 33 1-3 ' yards intermediate girls and senior ladies ; 33 1-3 yards open -breaststroke ; open diving ; football club relay ; 100 yards teams' raee. It was decided to hold the schools . competition for the McGee Cup and the Jack Snaddon Cup at the club night on Wednesday, December 1/5. Mr. F. Workman was elected to the executive for the season. Messrs. D. P. Hutton and A. Latter were elected to renresent the club on the Hawke's Bay Swimming Centre for the season. Notice was received from the Royal Life-Saving Society re- a grand carnival to be'conducted by the society during •the Christmas liolidays, and it was decided -to give the society tlie wholehearted support of the club in making the carnival a success. Members requiring subscription boolts are requested to procure same from the sec-retary.
