ENJOYABLE OUTING
Tramping Club Members A pleasant outing was experienced by a party of 22 members of the Heretaunga Tramping Club on. Sunday wheu, led by Mr. Les Holt, a tramp through the country in the vicinity of Hawkston and Te Kohai stations, inland from Puketitiri, was mad©,. Ideal weather prevailed, and the major portion of the party , lei't Hastings at 6.30 o'clock on Sunday "morning, to be joined hy eight members from Napier, and arrived at Hawkston station, about eight miles. from Puke- . titiri, at about nine o'clock! From bere the party journeyed afoot to Te Kohai station and inspected th© now unoccupied old homestead, that was erected in the very early. settlement days. ( Headquarters were established at; the homestead, and well befox*e lunch liour the party were on .their way to secure magnificent views of the countryside from the various peaks. On© - of the highest points was tlie Trig station, kiioWn as tlie Don Juan peak. The party made tlie round trip of the major peaks in the locality and returned to th© homestead • via ' "Hawkston * Gorge after a particultrly ehjoyahle, though uneventful outing. "
