FALL FROM MOTOR-CYCLE
Hastings Man Suffers Severe Concussion Concussion followed a fall from his nfotor-cycle when Mr James Stephen Dunn skidded his machine on tho main highway at Pakipaki last evening. Beyond a cut lip and shock, Mr Dunn appeared to have escaped without iujuryj but later in thc evening he collapsed and was removed to hospital, where he is stated to be sulfering from severe concussion. Because the defendant, who had been released on bail, was now jn hospital sulfering from concussion, tlie police ease against James Stephen Dunn on a charge of being in a state of intoxieation while in charge of a motor-cycle at Pakipaki, was adjourned by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Hastings Magistrate's Court this afternoon. Sergeant J. Maclntosh, who appeared for the police, said that as the result of an accident at Pakipaki last evening, the police had gone out ana brought back Dunn to tlie station. He had been examined by a doctor, and as a result of the examination, Was charged with the present offence. Shortly afterwards he had been released on bail on a surety of £20, and the police were later informed that he had been taken to hospital suffering from concussion. The Magistrate adjourned the case ^or & fortnight, bail beins renojved.
