War Memorial and Luke Wilson Cups RELAY COMPETITIONS On the motion of Mr E. D. Berry, it was agreed, at last evening's rneering of the Hawke's Bay Swimmiug (jeutre, in Napier, that the present eompetitions for the Luke Wilson and War Memorial Oups be abolished, and that m future these cups ,be held by the wmning teams in. championship relay races ior women and for men, the teams to consist of seniors, lntermecllate and juniors. Messrs E. D. Berry and D. Miller were appointed a sub-committeo to draw up suggested ruies of competition and suom.it thcm to the ciubs for oonsideration, club delegatea to be ready to iinalise the matter at the next meetmg. In reply to a letter fi-om the New Zeaiand Association asking for suggeo tions as to competition for a trophy to commemorate Mr W. xi. B. Bishop, prosident of the association from 1918 to 193G, tha Centre decided to suggest a still-water life-saving competition run along similar- lines to the Wigram Shield competition prior to the time the conditions were amended. In regard to. this year's "learn-to-swim week ' ' it was decided to adviso all clubs in the centre that would start on December 13, and to ask them to make arrangements- accordingly. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs C. Atkinson, E. B. Berry, B. Miller, was set up to consider an invitation from the New Zeaiand Amateur Swimming Association to make application to the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation for assistance to provide extra facilities, nevv baths, etc., in the parts of the H.B. distriet where they were needed. The Napier Club's applicatics ior permission to take a team to Dannevirke on December 18 to compete for the Jensen Cup was granted. The meeting was attended by Messrs A. I. Rainbow (in the chair), E. Algie, C. Atkinson, J. Johnstone, E. Doggett, K. Bryant, L. Bull, W. Ti Harvey, G. Brown, D. Hutton, P. Tritt, D. Millc-r, E.' Berry and E. H. Miles (hon secretary.)
