JAMAICAN JAMBOREE
There is a tinge of romance in the small leaflet the Jamaican Scouts are sending out - inviting their brother Scouts to their jamboree to be held in 1939. A typical Jamaican view illustrated on the front cover and the following words will set any adventurous boy to save his money to try to attend: — "Discovered by Columbus in 1494, Jamaiea has had a romantic history. Arawak, Spaniard, Maroon, Buccaneer, English settler, Bodney, Nelson, all have written tlieir names on the pages of its history. " In this romantic tropical setting, with azure skies and verdant hills rolling down. to blue seas, Jamaiea Sconta mk« rtady to welcem® their hrothers
from overseas to the New World Jamboree, 1939." - The Chief Scout, Lord Baden-Powell, hopes to attend this jamboree. ' '
