LETTERS TO EDITOR
K. E. CROMPTON,
Military Camps on theShowgrounds Sir, — Like many other members . of the A. and I1. Society, I was greatly surprised and shocked to see that the society had xefused the use> o£ its grounds to the Mounted Rifles. for the annual camp. . Considering that these young men go to a great deal df hard work -and Self* deniat to fit themselves tt> defend NfeW Zealand if the necessity ever arose, and that if the emergency 6ver did arise, wliich God forbid; these young men, would' bear the brunt qf the fighting, I thing the least; we can do is to assist ; them to the best of our ability now. , I .am .sure that nine-tenths at' leasf of the members would repudiate tho penny-wise policy of the committee, and I hope, if no other persuasion. ia possible, that a general meeting o| the society will b'e called to dome to' n more patrjotic decision."— Yours. etc,.
