ATTEMPT ON CLOUSTON'S RECORD
(Received 22, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 20. A Rumanian, Prince Cantaeuzene, left Croydon at 12.36 a.m. in an attempt to beat Flying-Officer Clouston 's Cape record. A. Paris message states Prince Cantaouzene landed at Le Bourget at 1.5 a.m. and left for Alace at 2.31 a.m. after refuelling. J-Ie is flying a Caudron Typhop monoplane with two ' 220-h.p. Renault engines. He planned to fly straight to Alaoes in the Cougo and thence direct to the Cape, but at the last lninute he decided to land at Paris to refuel and fly thence to the Cape in two .hops. An Algiers message says that PrinceCantaeuzene landed at Aulef, 750 miles south-west of Algiers. He is averaging 165 miles an hour. He left later for the Cape. Later: Prince Caintacuzene arrived at Port Gentil.
