WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The difficulty being OxperiehCed in obtaining a house for the use of an additionai police constable who is to be transferred to Waipukurau throws' 1 into prominence once again tho acute : housirig shortage whieh exists at the present timo in the cUstfict, , So far it 1 has been 'found impossible to obtain 1 suitable accommodation, and the transfer is likely to be held up for some . ' timo _fpj_ this reason. Not only is tlxerfi a. sferious shortage of houses in Waipukurau, but flats and even, board is practieally impossible to obtain.. There lias been a slight easing of the pdsition this week whCli several flats became vacant simultaneously, but these have been quickly taken.
