Opening of Negotiations Announced LONDON, Nov. 18. The Prime Minister, Mr Neville Chamberlain, was greeted 'with applause by all parts of the House of Commons when he announced, in reply to Majoi Attlee, that he was happy to state that exploratuiy discussions regarding an Anglo-Ameriean trade pact had reached a point engbling the Governments concerned to announco that negotiations were contemplated. He added that this marked a definite step forward. A Wasliingto i report says that the pact will offset the • Anti-Comintern Pact. • Mr Cordell Hull announced at Washington the TJnited States intention to negotiation for an Anglo-American • trade treaty and invited interested persons to submit suggestions regaTding imports and exports that should be considered. Formal notice of the negotiations will be issued at a later date after the receipt of proposqls from the Hnited Kingdom. Thore will also be publislied _ a list of products on which fihc IJnitcd States will cousider granting ooaeession* tj the Unitod Kingdom.
