TOWN BANNS NOISE
The Borough Council of Sale, Cheshire, town recently drew up a new set of 39 by-laws for the "good rule and government'' of the district, at the same time rojecting a proposal to introduce a by-law prohibiting the hanging out of washings on davs other than iRonday or Tuesday. It is decr'eed, however, that liedgecuttinas must not remain on the highway for longer than an hour after sunsct on the day they have been cut. No-one is permitted to sbund or play any musical or noisy instrument or sing in any si*eet or -public place within 100 yards of a hoqse or office after being ref^iested to "desist" hy any inmate or oqeupant thcrcof
Three houseliolders who are annoyed by the operation of a noisy or persistent radio loudspeaker or gramophone may take proqeedings against the offender a,fier giving a fortnight's notice to abate the nuisance. Bells, gongs or other noisy instruments which cause annoyanc© to inhabitants are forbidden for the purposo of vhawlcing, while no one must provoke any animal or person to fight. The new by-laws regard with disfavour tlie use of fcotways oy roadwaya for the purpose of advertising, propaganda, or "news ciissemmation by writing,"
