SUBTLETY OF SATAN
Christ's temptation c'ame when He was in solitude, when it seemed as though He was deserted by God and man. We must be on the lookout for . Satan when we are alonc, in solitude, like Christ in the wilderness. The wilderness temptations, it is to be noted, were all along the lines of the purely natural — to .satisfy hunger, to trust God, to worship. It was suggested to Christ that He do right things in a wrong way. This is the subtlety of the enemy of our souls. More men are killed by food than by poison, by the abuse of the natural than by the use of the unnatural. — William Evans, Phd J)., D.D.
