"PEACE"

We aro made for life in this world, even with all its power to hurt us. It is God's gift. If we know that He is in it we can meet it all without disquiet. Nothing can break our peace. In a little poem Victor Hugo gives a perfect pieture of true peace. 'A bird sits on the branch of a tree amid a howling gale. At any nioment the branch may break and the bird be hurled into the empty, surging air. Yet the bird sings amid the tempest. And why? Because it has wings. It knows that it has the power to live in that air with all. its fury. It can even soar to heaven on the breast of tho wind. That is the kind of peace Christ gives — the peace that comes from facing life with' God, and knowing that His Grace is sufficient for us.
